I spoke to so many people before the Hatton fight and said that Mayweather is far too techniqual for him and I was proved right. There is a reason why they call him the best pound for pound fighter…Rickey started off well piling on the pressure but after seeing his trade mark body shots just landing on Floyd’s forearms and the tight defence he had up which denied Hatton targets I knew it was the beginning of the end. Hatton began to look tired and Floyd turned up the heat and like a sniper began to land shots at will with great accuracy. He nearly knocked Hatton out in the fourth when Hatton walked onto a beautiful right hand from Floyd. In the end it was a class check hook on the blind side that sent Hatton down and this is something that really you are born with as the timing was picture perfect. Floyd finished him quick after that.

I would like to see Floyd fight Cotto now as he is the man people are looking to but I still feel Floyd has the edge.

As for Amir what can I say for our lad! The guy totally owned that idiot Earl who people had picked would hurt Amir especially after his tough fight with katsidis and was ranked number one in the UK and top in Europe. Amir just picked his shots at will and then hit with lightening hand speed which packed incredible power and floored the guy. The follow up flurry with the left hooks was amazing and the guy had to be rescued before he was seriously hurt. I have no doubt that Amir is a world beater and inshallah will unify the belts at his weight class and is big enough to go up. He needs a few more fights maybe the one with Jon Thaxton the current lightweight champion and then move on to a few Euro fights and then take on Katsidis. Anyhow he makes us all very proud.
