Batajnica,
You raise a very valid point, for me it is paramount that our relationship with China prospers. For many years my friends from the mainland (Beijing) commented on the fact that why does Pakistan not send students to Chinese Engineering Universities, instead they "Pakistani" students prefer to go to American, British, Australian universities. I informed my learned friends that this is because our people are fickle they do not go for the Education, but merely for the STAMP of "US" or "UK".

But times are changing, the Higher Education Commission, Ministry for Education and various Chinese Universities have started phase one, strengthening the bond between Chinese and Pakistani Academia, the Pakistan China University (PCU) based in Islamabad will provide a range of engineering courses and undergraduate and post graduate level.

Many of my friends from Shenzen also commented on who our people "Pakistanis" are obsessed with made in Japan, America etc and do not prefer buying Chinese, again times have changed Pakistani businessmen now invest in Chinese manufactured electronic such as Televisions, Radios, etc... Chinese electronic and Telecommunications equipment particularly cellular equipment investment "Export" has increased in Pakistan, many small businesses have made huge profits from importing Chinese manufactured CCTV systems, Car Alarms and Aero Models from Shenzen.
However consumers still need to be educated on the benefits to the economy and neighbourly relations if we buy Chinese.

Tourism Promotion (On Both Sides):
One of my chinese friends once told me that Chinese Buddhist come to Pakistan to pay homage to Padmasambhava, founder of Tibetan Buddhism. The (Kagyu) sect of Tibetan Buddhism located in the region of the old Gandhara civilization is also thought to be the location of the mystical Lake which is the birthplace of Padmasambhava. It is said that the lake is near a tiny village near Chakdara in the lower Swat Valley.
Furthermore many also pay homage to the ancient Capital of the Gandhara civilization called "Purushpura" (Peshawar), but many of my friends could come and go quite easily but recently it have become more difficult for them to do this (Security). I think that the Pakistan government should do more not only to promote this major source of tourism but also it should develop the tourism sector more, improve the security situation etc..
Having been to China, i really felt at home and always promote China especially rural China as a holiday destination. But i also feel that the Chinese Government should make it easier for Pakistani's to visit China, at the moment there are only three ways to go if you are Pakistani:
1. Someone Sponsors You "University/Business/Work"
2. Group Booking "Tourism"
3. Diplomatic
